It's Merry Christmas not Happy Holidays

One of the perks of being retired is that I can drop the "politically correct" language and not be worried about offending someone if I say Merry Christmas versus Happy Holidays.

What makes Canada a great place to live is our tolerance and willingness to let everyone celebrate their holidays and festivals as is their custom. This includes Canadians who chose to celebrate Christmas, as is their custom.

A former Sears's colleague sent me this YouTube video called " If You Don't Say Merry Christmas" that asks consumers to boycott stores who don't display a Merry Christmas sign in their windows. It has gone viral with over 1 million page visits to date.

Personally I find this protest extreme but I do understand the frustration of some who feel that their Christmas holiday, in the interest of "political correctness," has been discriminated against.

Merry Christmas Everyone
