Drug Dealing and Usage Increasing in Boundary Park

July 25, 2013

Report from Block Watcher Marjorie to Surrey RCMP

There is constant pot smoking in the pond area and on two pathways in particular.  #2 to # 13 and # 3 to # 11 . The individuals arrive at approximately 2:30 pm to 4:30  pm and smoke in the pathway. They park on Southpark by park gate #11 and #13 and walk into the path and on Northpark

gate #2and #3 then into the path. When they leave they toss garbage on the street. They are south Asian men approximately 18 to 20 yrs. of age, 3-4 in the group. There is a white car that is usually used but a van was spotted yesterday and sorry, I forgot the licence plate number. They are also  parking in Parkside Place where they will walk into the pond or treed area from there. Talking with a resident there, apparently "wheelies"have been done there late at night.

There is a 4 some, two south Asian males and two south Asian females that regularly smoke at the pond during the day. The  BC licence plate number for this white Cadillac is 516  NMP. Two of them got into this car and two others got into another car. A resident followed these other two and got the licence plate number for that car and I believe, called it in. It was an Alberta car.

In both these instances and on more than one occasion, I have approached them and said that they are not to smoke dope in the park, that it is still illegal for EVERYONE. They said that they are using it "medicinally" and I reply that they should use it at home then, not in a public place. I also have told them that I have recorded their licence no. and that seems to get them moving. I have also told others to record licence plate numbers as well and we will call them into the police or give them to you. There is just too much of this happening around here and as summer is here it will get worse as we are already seeing. They have been seen also at night, parked on Northpark and by the pond.

Also, a new BW person has said that he has seen drug exchanges by the Boundary Park elementary school, as he goes to pick up his son. Again, south Asian and about 20 something. He is concerned that young kids can be drawn into this activity.

Of course there is always activity in Boundary Park Plaza by Hatto Sushi in the lane way and parking lot there.

So that is about it in a nutshell. People here are fed up with seeing this activity. It,s no wonder that there becomes complacency on their part but hopefully, saying they will get licence numbers will help...again.

Editors note:  I have observed on a nightly basis that park gate #1 located on Boundary Drive West is a favourite location for drug dealers and buyers to congregate. The drug dealing and usage takes place between 2230 and 12 midnight and up to 0230hrs on weekends.

What is unfortunate is the the number of Boundary Park residents who are observing these illegial  activities but for reasons unknown are not calling the RCMP at 604.599.0502 or their Block Watch representative to report them.
