Breaking News
Unconfirmed sources are advising that there is a rumour going around telling people that we are all going to die. This rumour unfortunately has no factual information as to when each of us will eventually succumb to the Grim Reaper. Assuming this rumour has some basis of truth then if makes perfect sense for each of us to ensure our "affairs are in order" when the day of our demise arrives.
Having your affairs in order means having a valid and current Will that will give your survivours written direction as to how you would like your estate handled and by whom. Without having a current and valid Will means you will die "intestate" and that your affairs will be decided upon by the Courts.
Imagine having someone you do not know decide who will get custody of your underage children, and who will financially benefit from your Estate. You can be assured that if do die intestate your Estate will be much smaller after the Court appointed executors get through with it not to forget your children who no doubt will despise you for being sent to a foster home to be raised.
So if having a current and properly drawn up Will makes perfect sense then one is left wondering why over 50 percent of British Columbian's currently don't have a Will? Perhaps the answer rests with Forrest Gump who said "stupid is that stupid does."
