$2,100 IN FINES ISSUED TO 5 MEN CAUGHT LOITERING IN SURREY PARK

Some people believe that laws are meant for others to abide by, not themselves. Take for example the City of Surrey Bylaw #4395 that states "it's parks are closed from dusk to dawn and those caught loitering in a park between dusk and dawn can be fined up to $500."
This past Saturday evening at around 11:00pm, Surrey RCMP apprehended five young men on the east side of Boundary Park Lake. They were found to be in possession of alcohol and causing a disturbance.
In addition to confiscating the alcohol, police gave each of the 5 men Surrey Bylaw Violation Tickets in the amount of $420 each for loitering in a Surrey Park.
Unfortunately, these 5 young men had to learn the hard way that laws are meant for everyone to follow.
Special thanks to the Surrey RCMP for their continued support in helping keep Boundary Park a safe and wonderful place to live.
